Private by design
No ads, no account required, and no server of ours in the translation path when you use your own key — keys and settings stay on your device. Only anonymous usage events (which features you used, never page content), and one switch turns them off.

Where to get it
The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps are live on the App Store, the Chrome extension on the Chrome Web Store, and the Firefox add-on on addons.mozilla.org.
Chrome: install the latest version directly
Store review takes time, so the Chrome Web Store version can lag behind. The package below is always the newest release, built from the exact same source we submit to the store, and it installs in about a minute.
Unzip the downloaded file. You get a folder — keep it; Chrome runs the extension from that folder.
Type chrome://extensions in the address bar, press Enter, then switch on Developer mode in the top corner.
Click Load unpacked and choose the folder you just unzipped.
Done — pin the icon from the puzzle menu 🧩. Direct installs don't auto-update: come back for new versions, or use the store build for automatic updates.
The same steps work in Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers (edge://extensions on Edge).
How to use
From download to bilingual reading in about two minutes.
- Download BelliedMonkey Translator from the App Store.
- Open Settings → Safari → Extensions, turn on BelliedMonkey Translator, and allow it on all websites.
- Open any web page in Safari and tap the floating button to read it bilingually. On YouTube, use the button inside the player for dual subtitles.
- Google translation is free and works out of the box. Prefer an AI engine? Add your own API key (or a custom endpoint) in the extension's settings — or sign in and claim a small free credit we pay for, enough for a few hundred pages.
- Want to remember what you read? Turn on Learning in settings and review cards appear — review any time in the phone app.
Using Chrome? Install BelliedMonkey Translator from the Chrome Web Store — pin it to the toolbar, then use the floating button the same way.
On a Mac? The Mac version is part of the same App Store listing as the iPhone and iPad app. Once installed, open Safari → Settings → Extensions and turn on BelliedMonkey Translator.
